Bushwick Sushwick

Sunday January 13, 2014

Since December 27th 2013 I have been telling myself everyday that 2014 is my year.  My cousin Taylor and I share the same feeling towards 2014.  I have wanted to do something fun.  Not only fun but also motivating, I need something else in my life to bring me joy laughter and excitement.  If I am in a situation where I am challenging myself or being positively influenced then I am in a great place.

Therefore, I am committed to cutting the bullshit out of my life.. Aka – stop being lazy and take advantage of the world around me, explore what is hidden.

My boyfriend gave me a camera as my Christmas gift.  GENIUS! I’m obsessed with it.  Photography has been a fad of mine, I am def.  great at it.

It was only 45 degrees outside but, it was sunny and I am committed to my goal.

Taylor and I took a ride to Bushwick Brooklyn. Driving into the city is either a pain in the ass or not.  For a Sunday I must admit that everything went SAF (Smooth As Fuck).  There was literally NO TRAFFIC; I must have been driving 65 MPH the entire way there and back.  Within 45 minutes we were in there.

The main reason for visiting this town is because of the amazing street art that exists.  Honestly, just about all of it is amazing.   The first piece that I saw was a mural of 3 obese women in pastel green yellow and orange.  They reminded me of 3 monsters from the movie Monsters Inc.  Anyways.

The navi on my phone directed me from Wayne NJ to the Bushwich collective art street.  I had to pee so fucking bad, so I went to the nearest eatery and got a nasty cup of green tea that tasted like fish, pee’d and then left because the smell of raw eggs was making me so damn nauseas that I had to get the fuck out.  Plus the waiter Katie was rude as fuck. GIRL BYE

Murals surrounded this little place and the second one that I saw was a painting of this woman with geometric shapes on her face. The one thing that I love to see in art is symmetry or the lack of.  Perfection and imperfections are really my style; I find great interest in perfecting things that are flawed.  I met a Pisces who was cool, he knew a lot about the art in the area because he was from Queens.  I don’t have anything against Pisces but they are my opposite so there is something interesting about that sign.

We all walked around the area, a few blocks or so and took pictures of the streets filled with this amazing graffiti.  People are really fucking talented out there and I am obsessed with what I saw.

We wrapped up our day and went to the AP Café, with a second cup of green tea and an Aussie employee who truly captivated my mind.  When I walked in she looked up and boom- her eyes were an icy light baby green, big eyes too, her pupils were small and all I saw was that beautiful color.  Her bangs were sick, not your usual bang, it was cut straight across her forehead – what daaaaaaa, I secretly was obsessed and then she said, “Hi what can I get ya?”  Her eyes her bangs her eyebrows and her damn smile all had me stuck – then when she started to talk I was like – wow, it really just got better, she even has an accent – this fucking woman is unreal.  Guess what, she was a Gemini just like I had predicted.  We exchanged information, she a photographer and an amazing one.  Get it girl <3

Ill shares all the pictures I took, or at least the best ones.
